...okay...I give up!!!!... it's bad enough when a whole page goes missing in my... "Gympie Pyramid / Hieroglyphs in Woy Woy" ... thread taking with it about a dozen photos and comments with it... but now the "Artwork Critique" thread and the "Technical Help" sections have totally disappeared????... is the whole site being revamped at the moment????... are we getting all the artwork on those threads returned??... if so the entire page of my missing photos???...

...Admins... have I posted this halfway through the revamp???... man this is getting frustrating!!!!... please ANYBODY... what the hell is happening?????... I've got no hair on my head left to pull out... I'm thinking of turning EMO so as to start cutting myself with knives out of frustration here!!!... please peoples... what's happening????... ... just a thought Chewy... are you able to roll the forum back to a previous point in time to say... a few days ago????... something like a "System Restore" ... it would be awful if we have lost all those threads forever... I am getting just a frustrated as you with this I tried moving a couple of forums back to where they should have been and deleted them in the process by accident. The site has so many bugs and viruses in it at the moment that I cant even put up or create a new forum for everyone to use. Its a simple process as is moving the forums back to where they used to be but things don't want to budge.

We could roll back the forum to another point but that would mean all posts made in the last 2/3 days would be gone, plus to roll it back just means we are rolling back a virus infected forum and still doesn't resolve the issue of getting this forum back up to where it used to be.

What we I believe we need to do is start the forum from scratch with new software and if we can try and roll over any existing threads and forums to the new site. As of the moment its driving me crazy seeing the site like this.

...hey Chewy ... thanks for the response my friend... if it means losing a dozen or so posts compared to losing a couple of hundred posts by rolling back the forums ... it's probably easier to do that instead of all of us losing all that information that we have posted... the forums will lose any form of continuity for people just coming into them... my Heiroglyphs post for instance... there were about 15 photos deleted just there alone!...

...so losing a few comments from the last few days would'nt be so hard to repost... and I think that rolling the forums back won't affect the virus either... if it's in here... rolling it back won't change anything I don't believe... I may be wrong... but I don't believe it would change anything... just my thoughts mate... cheers... Stickyfingers.

Hey Sticky In regards to your Heiroglyphs posts I am not sure how they got deleted I checked the moderation panel and no one deleted anything from that thread, that’s why I believe we have some viruses at the moment eating away at the site.

In regards to the artwork forum it was getting messy anyway because when Cass left she deleted all her posts that she made and she made quite a lot in the artwork forum, reading any thread in there made it almost impossible to read as it was a mish mash of comments. I understand there was some good artwork and things but that can always be reposted.

Like I say rolling back the forum we still have a problem, we still have a virus infected forum. Even Cass with all her knowledge and help wasn’t able to fix the problem.

In my opinion we need to start from new if that means (dare I say) losing everyone’s posts then so be it. I spoke to Dean and Lasso about it a while back and Dean was open to the idea but Lasso thinks the problem is a little easier to fix, I’m not to sure like I say what ever I try and do anything in the backend it wont let me and it should be a lot simpler than that. There a certain simple functions in the backend that look rosy on the outside but once you dig a little deeper they whole thing is virus infected.

Sometimes a change is good. I just hope we don’t have to lose everything in the process.

Hi Guys i Totally agree better losing it now then haveing the whole thing crash i dear say sooner or later the viruses will take completly over and there goes the WHOLE show. Do it chewy and do it soon mate.....we can always repost a lot of it give it a fresh start.

I would like to make a few comments here as one of the Forum Moderators;

In recent times I have seen some pretty unprofessional behaviour from various individuals on this forum.

I did not think that this enhanced or endeared itself to this forum at all.

I have also observed that the "Quote"ing format is being used at times as a not to subtle attack on other members of the forum.

Cryptozoology, Ufology and the Paranormal are certainly specialised areas of research and we are trying to validate it as a respectable area of study.

The above described behavious only bring disrepute and disrespect to those perpetrating it and to those responding to it. This effect flows onto the Forum.

In short unprofessional postings do not deserve replies and unprofessional replies only continue to re-fuel the negativity and unprofessional behaviour.

Sticky – and I am sorry to respond to this one by name, but I do not believe by signposting things like the Gosford Glyphs on the forum is a sensible thing to do. Once the exact location goes out on the net who know who will access this information. Vandals could even go there and destroy the engravings. Keeping the location amongst ourselves is not being secretive, but sensible. In keeping the exact location of the Glyphs private this reduces the risk of vandalism. Trust me I have been well trained in secrecy.
The PM (Private Message) system or emails is the best medium to tell each other about locations.

So, if we do rebuild a new Forum, I would like to see a clear set of rules whereby persons participating know clearly what the boundaries are.

Now, let’s start building that professionalism in these areas and give them and the Forum a well respected reputation. And not one of a bunch of children arguing amongst themselves. We need to be cohesive while at the same time examining presented information objectively.

...hey Big Cats my friend... don't worry about offending me about this mate... what you are saying is spot on ... but I will say... I ummed and ahhhhhed for ages regarding whether or not to post the location... when I originally posted the locations before I went to see them... I figured that because people were able to download a hand drawn sketch of the location from a few sites on the Internet provided by the Gosford Council methinks and some other websites... that posting the aerial Google maps shots didn't make much difference... if people wanted to find them... they would regardless... I figured that the local vandals within the area would have already known about these glyphs and therefore had decided not to deface them perhaps because of the historical significance of them?... who knows?? ... so I saw no harm in posting them...

...that being said ... when AussieTrev and I actually went there to see them for ourselves... we saw that a ma$$ive housing estate within the very near future was being built right up to about within 100 metres of them ... after a fair bit of discussion... we soon realised that the local vandals... probably aware of their significance had probably left it alone as a "no go area" ... but the new housing estate kids would have absolutely no idea of this significance... thereby seeing no wrong reason not to "improve" on the area by stamping their marks upon these glyphs... to think that they will not do this would be a very naive notion as far as AussieTrev and myself were concerned...

...so posting the second group of photos after we had been there... was for the very reason that those people that do wish to see them to have knowledge now so as to go and see them before they are totally vandalised!... also... with housing soon to be that close to them... the heiroglyphs days are numbered now as far as we could see... I do suggest that people go and see them in the immediate future so as not to miss out on the beauty of the site prior to the future Graffitti onslaught!...

...but as I said before Big Cats... what you are saying is spot on... revealing locations of where you are going is best off being PMmed to the relevant people only... a very wise move indeed... but as I say... the location of the glyphs were already freely available on the Internet... besides... I figured that people that come onto here to seek out all the things that they are looking for regarding amazing things such as the glyphs are more intelligent that the mindless wankers that deface these wonderous things with Graffitti... I myself beleive that the risk is negligable but I do take your point about the risks of revealing these things... a good call on your part my friend ...

...one thing I do wish to say at this point... if anyone has made an "Executive decision" within the Moderators or Admins to delete all of the relevant photos of the area and how to get there without first PMming me to tell me of the decision to delete them or explaining the reasons why... and if it was alright with me first... that I would be extremely disappointed and to be honest... P'd off big time!!!... I'm not saying that this was the case... but I didn't delete them... so being given the courtesy of an explanation for the move prior to the act would have been a nice thing to do!!!... cheers... ...I must say... that I am numb from reading about whether it would be a good idea to start the forums up from scratch and starting all over again!... don't get me wrong sweet peoples... I respect your opinions in regards of the idea but I must point out that there is a hell of a lot of historical posts going back to day one of these forums to lose!!!!... when you take into perspective that there are close to 922 topics within these forums and over 9140 posts to lose... how can we EVER hope to even come close to reposting all the amazing stuff on this site???...

...if we lose all of that history... it will take away the essence and soul of what makes this the great website that it is!!!!!... just because of a virus?????... ANY virus up until now... no matter how much destruction they cause can be cured... I can't think of ONE virus that cannot be fixed!!!!... ...I seriously doubt that if it started from scratch that anybody would come back to this website at all... lets face it... coming into here to look at 1 or 2 topics as oppossed to 922 topics as it stands today... would hardly be riveting stuff would it???... that is the very reason 90% of newcomers come onto this site in the first place... because of the amount of material within these forums!!!!... it makes no sense whatsoever to start from scratch again... all we have to do is find somebody to help Chewy out here to fix the problem!!!!... a virus... is just a virus... I was thinking maybe i just imagined those sections there. A lot of websites are being targeted with virus.

I am nowhere near IT skilled but would it be fair to say that some of the previous " personality challenged " people who have been and gone from this site may have sabotaged the site at various times with viruses, worms, trojans etc...if this is the case, is there anything that can be done in the screening process to ensure the site is accessed by sensible people?........having said that..a bunch of people who believe in 8ft hairy hominids running the bush????..sensible mmmm

Hi all, not sure what's been happening here. For the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to read a single thread or post as a guest (I would have been happy to sign in and contribute more often to discussions, but a nasty password bug that didn't recognise my previous password kept on asking me to re-register under a new name, so I chose silence as the lesser of the two evils).

Anyway, I hope you get it all back up again, as a person who has more than just a passing interest in such encounters, I am keen to be able to read fresh new insights and reports as they come to hand.

I am guessing that the site hasn't been fixed for the general public who can't/won't sign in yet.
I know the people responsible for getting it back up and running are working double-time so that the visitors can see what the latest is.

Topender... I don't think that we have a case of sabotage here... or virus... I just think we have some very persistant glitches!


BigCats... I at first thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to put the location and pictures on this website, but after Sticky and I had a lengthy conversation about it, we both agreed it would be a tragedy not to share this info.
..... besides, its not exactly top secret info we are sharing.
It is on a lot of other websites out there (including the councils). How do you think we heard of it and found the directions?


I'm not too sure what is so 'unprofessional' about Stickys post? ..... there are 100's of posts on this site that are more 'unprofessional' than that particular one.

The Gosford Glyphs are a complete hoax in my opinion , they are a mish mash of several eras of egyptian script, makes me think somebody just copied them from a textbook and never understood what they were doing. So what value are they really?
As for professional, what a joke ! Who could make a profession out of yowie hunting, at best it is a hobby and most of us are just novice researchers, there may be only one or two people in this country that are professonal scientists and state publicly that they believe seriously in yowies. Speaking of profesionals, may be the site managers should get one in to iron out the problems that have arisen in the new year!

Thank-you for voicing your opinion of the Gosford Glyphs. Noted.

To my knowledge, there are no Tafe or university courses being run yet on cryptozoology, so you are quite right that no one is making a profession out of yowie hunting and it is at best a hobby. Though no one is making a profession out of this, it is still pioneering research, and anybody involved in this and the field work can properly regard themselves as a researcher.

In addition, a number of researchers in this forum are employed in undisclosed different professions and bring a range of investigative knowledge and practice to this endeavour.

T.C., which one of the numerous problems that have arisen in the new year do you think needs to be handled by a professional? On that point, a professional what?

...I believe that sweet sweet Lasso had a go at reforming the website a little while ago with chewy... I was watching the whole night as they were changing it all around... unfortunately that night it died in the buttonhole!... but while they were trying to get the whole thing back online I noticed that the UFO/ORBS and GHOSTS etc forums were being put up and then dropped straight afterwards... I saw that when they did that the whole section was still being displayed... so they must have them saved in their entirety... but I think that we will just have to wait until sweet Lasso and Chewy have time to complete the revamp of the forums... lets face it mate... it wouldn't be an easy task to do... so we'll just have to be patient eh???... anyway... Lasso promised me that the "Artwork Critique" thread would be returning... so as I say... patience my friend eh???... cheers... Stickyfingers.
