Hello rusty when i was younger around 2005 in the carrai plateau i was camping im not sure where in carrai but it was realy green and wet.I woke up in the middle of the night hearing something cross the small creek we were next to and around and hour later my dog starting barking realy loudly .We got up but couldnt hear anything because the wind had gotten quite loud.In the morning we relized that we were missing a deck chair and our esky full of(it weighed alot and i doubt a wallabi or wombat could do this) ice and water had been pushed over.We found our deck chair around 250 m upstream of us broken and ripped.I did some research into the carrai plateau and found out that their had been a number of yowie sightings and that there massive limestone caves ....................................

Anyone on the forum in this area might want to have a look .

I was going to check 20Km west of there, where the Oxley National Park start's on the westen side.I have not been able to get over there at this time.I have talked to hunter over that way. They said that they don,t go up in the Oxley no pig,no deer.On the wested side you don't get tourest.Just some locals fishermen after the trout. So I will check it out one day,It look good.
Thanx for the info Rust2 (thumb up)

Looks like rough territory, be safe !! If the Google Earth shots are close to accurate.... there may be more vertical than horizontal in the national park and the conservation area.

If you get that way MrX, I'd love to hear what you find!

Cheers

Mr X..... That's a gorge-ous pic !!!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself!! (lol) But it looks like a place best taken in small bites .... and LOTS of fluids. Maps indicate lots of watercourse areas too hmmm hmmm. Be certain to let us know how it goes!

Cheers

NoPolys

I was going to go to my area today, but had to go to Armidale. So I picked up some maps from the info centre.I have to go through a property in one of the areas.

I know Dion and sab8 went some were around the Oxley National Park last year.
Here is a map of the of the two area I will look at one day.In a strate line it's about 20km to Carrie National Park,I will be lucky to do 5km in this terrain.
Anyway is there any more report in these area's?

P.S I still got a bit going on in the area I'm in at this time.If it go's dead I will get over to the Oxley National Park.

Can you go there with some people or must you go alone? Do be careful, just read that report.
