Headless pig

Unread post by log » Thu Jul 25, 2019 3:44 pm

Good afternoon. I have done a fair bit of pig shooting in north west NSW . On one trip I shot a big sow and left it where it fell . the next day riding past the sow I stopped to see if anything had been chewing on it . Only the head was missing the rest of the animal hadn't been touched. Any idea of what would just rip the head off ???.. ....cheers Steve

Now I doubt this would happen as a pig is much larger but I know foxes are known to rip the heads off chickens and leave the bodies but that's more to teach their young how to kill so if the animal is already dead I doubt it would be a fox. Most animals don't eat dead things unless they are desperate other than things like crows, Tasmanian devil, birds, etc for it to remove the head would have been a big deal... Whereabouts was this located?

Hi Cricket
Did it appear as though the head had been removed or cut off in surgical manner or was it just severed and ripped off ???
