Paw print photo taken in Canberra

Unread post by Karlyseidl » Wed Sep 09, 2020 10:16 pm

Hey all,
First post. What do you think about about this animal print?
Photo taken on a bushland horseriding/running track in Canberra on January 19 2020.
I have compared this print to every Australian animal I know of.
It's big whatever it is, my hand is flat on the ground.

Hi Karlyseidl !

I have a book called "Scat Tracks and Other Signs" , looks very similar to a dingo . The book says it should be 10 - 12 centimetres .
It's a big looking print . I've heard of 2 encounters in the south east here . 1 of massive prints on a dirt road , big enough to stop the guy going for his morning walk . And another guy who saw what he described as a massive wolf , "as big as the back of my ute". ??????????

Hi Rusty,

That's a great book, I owned it once 😬 thanks for your input, I will look into dingo paw prints, although I say this print is at least 15cm. I have big hands!
